JOY Burch has announced the new location for the $10.7 million CIT Tuggeranong campus.
The campus will be established over two floors at 205 Anketell Street with a customised fit-out and refurbishment. The new facility will accommodate a number of purpose-built training facilities alongside flexible, multi-purpose learning spaces to foster innovation, collaboration and community engagement.
“My priority as Minister for Education and Training is to ensure all Canberrans can access high quality skills training and our world-class training systems and facilities. Facilities like these at CIT Tuggeranong will continue to attract national and international students to the ACT as a study destination,” Joy said.
“This $10.7 million investment into the new CIT campus is the fulfilment of ACT Labor’s 2012 election commitment and will greatly expand the study opportunities available in Tuggeranong.
“This facility will appeal to new and continuing learners from Canberra and beyond with a diverse range of courses that can be studied part-time, full-time or partly online.
“CIT Tuggeranong will deliver skills training in areas including health, business, legal, IT, creative industries and adult community education programs.
“The new CIT campus will increase activity in the Tuggeranong CBD, helping to revitalise the town centre and support local business.
“This is the ACT Government’s 2015 Budget priority in action – to renew our city’s suburbs through investment in modern resources and infrastructure for the community,” Ms Burch said.
“The new CIT facility is also an important component of the ACT Government’s $110 million commitment to provide vocational education and skills opportunities for all Canberrans and ensuring Canberra’s future workforce is equipped with the skills they need.”
The new campus will be ready for course delivery in Semester 2, 2016.
