NICA — the National Institute of Circus Arts is calling talented people from around Australia who dream of running away to a professional career in performing.
The institute offers Australia’s only Bachelor of Circus Arts, a three-year university degree based at its Melbourne campus.
This Saturday, ahead of September auditions for the 2016 course intake, NICA will be holding pre-audition circus workshops in Canberra and aspiring circus artists with a background in physical skills are encouraged to register. Past graduates from NICA, who are now professional circus performers and trainers in their own right, will facilitate all workshops, and answer any questions participants may have about the degree and life as a circus performer.
This year the workshops will be held in more locations around Australia than ever before. The focus will be on the audition requirements for accredited courses, including flexibility, handstands, tumbling, strength & conditioning, movement and performance.
