ACT Policing has apprehended two juveniles after a rock was thrown at a moving vehicle in Belconnen (Thursday, 2 October).
Around midnight last night, police were called to Emu Bank, Belconnen after reports that a rock had smashed the windscreen of a vehicle.
Three youths were seen near where the incident had occurred, and the group fled when police attended.
Police apprehended two 16-year-old juveniles a short distance away. One of the youths will be summonsed to face the ACT Children’s Court at a later date.
ACT Policing North District Superintendent Brett Kidner said that throwing rocks or other objects at vehicles is extremely dangerous for all concerned and has the capacity to cause serious harm.
Investigations are continuing with further charges to be possibly laid.
