AMANDA Muggleton thrives on her reputation as one of our sauciest performers.

Born in Stepney, London she emigrated to Australia in 1974.

Her most famous television role is perhaps that of Chrissie Latham in “Prisoner,” but her stage performances in “Shirley Valentine” and “Master Class” (for which she won a Green Room Award and a Helpmann Award for best actress) are hardly less well-known.

Muggleton has appeared with all the State and commercial theatre companies and she has won several very significant awards.

In 2003, Muggleton had completed a national tour of “The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe,” playing the White Witch with Dennis Olsen as The Professor. Muggleton and Olsen also devised and co-produced “Marvellous Party!” celebrating the words and music of Noël Coward, which enjoyed sell-out shows at the Concert Hall in the Victorian Arts Centre and at Canberra’s Teatro Vivaldi in 2004.

Now she’s back with a more personal show, as the title, “The Men Who Got Away — Thank God!” suggests.

Amanda Muggleton at Teatro Vivaldi, August 8 and 9, dinner and show from 6.30pm, $60, $85, $95 – Show only $40, $50, $60. Bookings to 6257 2718.
