A 21-year-old Holt man sought by ACT Policing was arrested in bushland near Bruce late this afternoon (Tuesday June 3).
The man, who was identified as being the subject of two outstanding arrest warrants, had been sighted driving a white Holden Commodore with ACT registration plates by ACT Policing Crime Targeting detectives in the O’Connor area.
A traffic stop was attempted on the vehicle but the driver fled from police.
The offender fled through O’Connor where police then terminated the pursuit. A thorough search of the area by detectives, Patrol members from City, Gungahlin and Belconnen along with Judicial Operations and K9 members found the abandoned vehicle, and took a woman, identified as being in the vehicle, into custody.
The alleged offender was then sighted in bushland near the Alivio Tourist Park in Bruce, a foot pursuit ensued, and the man was taken into custody.
The man is being questioned by police with charges pending.
