KATY Gallagher has shared with the public her statement to the Legislative Assembly on the impacts of this year’s Commonwealth budget on the people of Canberra.
It is, as one might expect, not good news.
“Unfortunately, the budget’s release confirms a bleak outlook for our city with extensive cuts to the Commonwealth public service and deep, permanent cuts to the funding of essential public services,” Katy said.
She reports that the ACT Cabinet will be meeting for two days next week to discuss the impact on the ACT Budget.
Courageously the Chief Minister has committed to maintaining ACT Public Service staffing levels with a focus on health and other frontline services.
