CANBERRA Girls Grammar student Emma Dobbie is equal top student in the ACT for 2013, achieving an ATAR score of 99.95.
The 18-year-old from Farrer, who plans to study a double-degree in Actuarial Studies and Finance at the Australian National University next year, says she’s ecstatic with her result.“The news is slowly sinking in, it’s just a dream come true!” says Emma.
Principal Anne Coutts says this is the third year running that a Canberra Girls Grammar School student has won the top award.
“Emma has worked hard this year, not only in her academic studies but in her contribution to the School community,” says Principal Anne Coutts.
“Emma has been Chair of the Student Representative Council and has been instrumental in fundraising activities for local charities. The School has raised more than $24,000 for several charities this year.
“Emma has represented the School in debating, cross-country and soccer. She has also been selected for ACT teams in debating and cross-country. Emma received the Caltex Best All Round Student Award and is an excellent role model for younger students—we are delighted with her success,” she says.
The Board of Secondary Studies plans to release further results tomorrow.
