Last night the National Museum played host to the 2014 Volunteer of the year awards.
The winners are:
- ACT Volunteer of the Year 2014, Michael D’Elboux, nominated by Kulture Break
- ACT Volunteer Team of the Year 2014, St. Nick’s Young Carer Program, nominated by the St Vincent de Paul Society
- Arts and Environment Winner – Michael D’Elboux, nominated by Kulture Break
- Community Care and Health Winner – Fred Luskan, nominated by IRT Kangara Waters Retirement Village
- Community Service Winner – Margaret McCulloch nominated by the Pain Support ACT Canberra Branch of the Australian Pain Management Association
- Education, Science and Technology Winner – Noureen Rainsford, nominated by Barnardos Canberra
- Sport and Recreation Winner – Margo Wade, nominated by Pegasus Riding for the Disabled ACT
- Young Person Winner – Georgia Lee-Abbott, nominated by the Australian Red Cross
- Emergency Services Winner – Sandra Malnar, nominated by the Volunteers in Policing Program
- Skilled Volunteer Winner – Garry Watson, nominated by the YMCA of Canberra
