MARIST College’s “Mates Service Programme” has won the ACT Order of Australia Association’s Service to the Community award.
Sue Sturgess, Sue Carroll with three year 10 students from St Francis Xavier College after receiving their award from Mark Sullivan.
Inspired by principal Richard Sidorko, the seven-year program is managed by staff member Nathan Ahearne.
Year 10 students of St Francis Xavier College have won the Assistance to the Disabled Award for their support of special needs students at Cranleigh Primary School. Among other activities, the college students organised dancing classes and soccer games for the Cranleigh students.
The awards were presented by Mark Sullivan, CEO of the sponsor ACTEW Water.
