ANDREW Barr has announced the long awaited rollout of 300 new pay parking machines which will free commuters of the need to bank large volumes of coins daily.
“The first of the new machines are being installed in Civic with further machines to be installed over the coming months in Woden, Dickson, Belconnen, Manuka, Kingston and Tuggeranong,” Treasurer Barr said.
“The new machines will be more convenient for drivers with new payment options through coins, credit cards, or using a smart-phone via the Parkmobile app.
“Smartphone app users can also opt to have a text message reminder that their parking is due to expire, to prevent overstay and the issue of an infringement notice.”
