THE small hours of the morning saw a string of alerts from the ACT Emergency Services Authority about a fire in Scullin:
- ACT Fire & Rescue are on scene at a garage fire in Dallas Place, Scullin.
The garage is well alight.

Crews are continuing to extinguish the fire and provide protection to surrounding homes.
ACT Fire & Rescue has three fire pumpers, a Commander and the Breathing Apparatus (BA) Van on scene. Support is also being provided by the ACT Ambulance Service. There have been no injuries reported so far.
The fire has brought down overhead power lines causing around 30 homes in the area to lose power. ACTEW are currently on scene restoring power.
Crews were alerted to the fire by multiple Triple Zero (000) calls from 2.12am.
One person was home at the time of the fire.

Crews have now extinguished the fire and will remain on scene monitoring for hot spots.
The garage has been destroyed.
There was no damage to surrounding homes.
The cause of the fire has been deemed suspicious.

This morning ACT Policing had more to say:
- A garage fire in Scullin has been deemed suspicious and handed to ACT Policing for investigation.
About 2am this morning (Sunday, March 30) police received a report of a garage fire in Dallas Place, Scullin.
ACT Fire and Rescue attended and extinguished the fire. As a result of the fire, the garage has been completely destroyed.
Police are urging anyone who may have any information on the cause of the fire to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000, or via www.act.crimestoppers.com.au. Information can be provided anonymously.
UPDATE: Police are now saying the fire has been deemed non-suspicious.
