THE Gungahlin Community Council (GCC) is calling for a share of Government offices as Tuggeranong and Woden battle to retain their own public service employment base.
“The Gungahlin Community Council notes recent comments about ageing office accommodation for Commonwealth public servants in Woden and Tuggeranong and believes that new offices should be built in Gungahlin to house at least some of those workers,” said President Evan Brown of the GCC.
The Council also noted that a major office block would balance the traffic on the planned Capital Metro light rail line and give residents fewer reasons to leave Gungahlin. President Brown said “the Council wants to see fewer reasons for local residents to have to leave the district for employment, recreation and services.”
