“The Anglican School Googong offers students and their families the latest in educational facilities, learning technologies and nearby access to state-of-the-art resources, such as a pool and tennis courts,” Mr Hewitt said in a statement today.
The school is within the church’s Diocese of Canberra and Goulburn, led by Bishop Stuart Robinson.
“The Diocese is excited by the prospect of opening the first school in the new Googong township and being a part of the community as it grows,” Bishop Robinson said.
The Liberal Member for Monaro, John Barilaro, says the new school will be “an important building block for the new community”.
“This is, no doubt, a special day and defining moment for the Anglican Diocese of Canberra and Goulburn, the people of Googong and the wider Queanbeyan community,” Barilaro said.
