ANDREW Barr says the ACT Government will partner with the Master Builders Association of the ACT, Renaissance Homes and the ACT building industry on the 2015-16 Deakin Charity Home Project.

“The ACT Government will donate two adjacent blocks of land in Deakin to the project where the local building industry will come together to build two innovative and functional houses,” Andrew said.

“These houses will then be sold, with the net proceeds of the auction being distributed to the Boundless all abilities playground, Hands Across Canberra and Hartley Lifecare.

“Each of these organisations assists people who live with a disability to have an improved quality of life.

“Projects like these would not be possible without the dedication and drive of many in our community and I am delighted that people with disabilities will benefit from the proceeds of the sale of these two houses. Canberrans have a strong and proud history of supporting others in our community and ensuring we all have equal access to the same opportunities.

“I am proud of the way our community has come together to deliver this project, and would like to particularly thank the builders, apprentices, subcontractors and suppliers for their generous support.”
