FIRE crews are working to extinguish a fire inside a restaurant at the Florey shops.
ACT Fire & Rescue was alerted the incident just before 4 o’clock.

The fire has been extinguished.
Firefighters are now inspecting the roof space to check the fire did not spread.
Crews will shortly commence ventilating smoke from the building.

Quick action by firefighters prevented the fire from spreading into the roof space.
The fire was contained to the kitchen of the restaurant.
The kitchen has sustained fire, heat and smoke damage. The remainder of the premises has been damaged by smoke and heat only.
A small number of people were evacuated from surrounding shops. No one has been injured.
