ICON Water crews will be conducting works to allow for new water connections today.
A spokesperson said the works may lead to possible water discolouration to customers in Monash, due to reversed water flows stirring up natural sediment within the network.
“Icon Water will endeavour to minimise any impact to the community throughout this essential work,” the spokesperson said.
“It is not recommended that you drink the water if it appears, tastes or smells objectionable. Customers experiencing discoloured water are advised not to use washing machines and dishwashers as it may stain clothing or clog filters.
“Whilst it is difficult to predict to what degree the water will be affected, Icon Water advises that any discolouration should clear with normal use. If you are experiencing any issues as a result of discolouration after Thursday, 22 October 2015, please call 02 6248 3111 and select option 1.
“Icon Water would like to take this opportunity to apologise to our customers in the affected area for any inconvenience this necessary work may cause.”
