THE ACT Government has invited members of the community to provide feedback on draft plans for an upgrade of public spaces at Hughes shops.
Territory and Municipal Services manager of Design and Development, Diana Hill, says the proposed upgrade will “revitalise” the Woden Valley suburb by making its central shops safer, more accessible and more attractive.
“The draft plans include improvements to lighting, car park arrangements and pedestrian links to the shops as well as upgrades to the pavement, steps and ramps,” Ms Hill says. “The central plaza area will also be enhanced to improve the overall amenity of the area.”The draft was developed after a previous round of community consultation in July and August this year.
Members of the community can provide feedback on the draft design at drop-in sessions, or online at timetotalk.act.gov.au.
Drop-in sessions are Wednesday, December 11 from 12pm to 2pm, and Thursday, December 12 from 3pm to 6pm.
