THIS week over 8,000 years 9 to 12 students from ACT and region schools will be presented with windows of opportunity into valuable career guidance and advice from over 130 local, national and interstate exhibition booth holders from Universities, Colleges, Trade Training and career placement organisations at Canberra CareersXpo July 29 to 30.

Presented by the Rotary Club of Canberra City as a vocational and community service, in a unique partnership with the ACT Government Education and Training Department, CareersXpo showcases a wide range of career professional, technical and trade pathways for students, parents, teachers and career advisors to explore, and special Parents and Student sessions.

“The Xpo held at EPIC charges no attendance fees and also offers hands on ‘Try a Skill’, Future Pathways Planning, and new in 2015, an Indigenous Exhibition and Small Business and Entrepreneurs Hub,” said Chairman of the Rotary Management Committee Len Goodman.

“In addition there are Seminars ranging over University and College services, Digital careers, Fashion, Accountancy, Arts and overseas volunteerism. The aim is a one stop information bank for Students as they face choices to equip them for the prospect of multiple career paths in an evolving job market.

“Students will be bussed in from as far afield as Tumut, Gundagai, Crookwell, the Sapphire Coast, Yass and from schools around the ACT and Queanbeyan.

“CareersXpo, now in its thirtieth year, is the most diverse and sought after advisory service for school students in the ACT and southern regions of NSW.”
