Spectacular organ by rising star Lee

WESLEY Organ Scholar Jonathan Lee will perform a program of works by three of the greatest organ composers of all time as part of the Wesley Music Centre Lunchtime Live series tomorrow, Wednesday July 15.

Lee started learning organ in May 2014 with Philip Swanton, Head of Organ at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music. He is the recipient of a Canberra Grammar School Organ Music Scholarship and, at the start of this year, was appointed Wesley Organ Scholar, under the guidance of the Wesley Uniting Church’s  Director of Music, Calvin Bowman.

He has already performed on the grand organs of Sydney Town Hall and St Mary’s Cathedral. He regularly plays for church services at St Columba’s Uniting Church in Braddon and at the ANZAC Memorial Chapel of St Paul in Duntroon, as well as for school chapel services.

Tomorrow he will be playing  works by Johann Sebastian Bach, César Franck and Olivier Messiaen.

“Jonathan Lee plays great composers for the organ”,  at Wesley Church, 20 National Circuit, Forrest, 12.40pm to 1.20pm, Wednesday  July 15. Entry by paper note, concession $5. No bookings required. Tickets at the door.
