ACT Policing is seeking witnesses to a collision between a car and a pedestrian on Hindmarsh Drive, Phillip, this afternoon (9 July).

About 1.15pm, a 14-year-old teenage girl was crossing the west bound lanes of Hindmarsh Drive near the intersection with Melrose Drive, when she was struck by a car.

The ACT Ambulance Service attended and conveyed the teenager to The Canberra Hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. ACT Policing’s Collision Investigation and Reconstruction team are investigating the collision.

The driver of the car stopped at the scene but left the area without providing details to the teenager or police.

The driver is described as being an elderly woman and the vehicle is described as being a white Toyota Corolla, possibly with yellow and black NSW plates. The model of the car is estimated to be around 2008 or newer.

Police are urging the driver of the car to contact ACT Policing Operations on 131-444 as soon as possible.

Police are also urging anyone who witnessed the incident or have any information that could assist police to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000, or via act.crimestoppers.com.au. Information can be provided anonymously. Police remind people they should not report crime information via Facebook and Twitter pages.
