INDIGENOUS artist James Tylor has been visiting PhotoAccess in the Manuka Arts Centre from Adelaide to present his exhibition “Un-resettling”, and Chris Bennie has been here from the Gold Coast to present his unusual work “The Waves + Control Rooms”, made during an Asialink residency to Japan last year. Both explore confrontations between humans and the natural world and the show is recommended. Runs until July 26.
SHORTIS & Simpson’s “A Strong Constitution” explores the language, the stories, the cases, the implications of the work of our founding fathers. THE Australian Department of Industry and Science is presenting a NAIDOC Week exhibition of indigenous art, in the Mosaic Room, HotelHotel, NewActon, but alas, it only runs until today, July 9. Balagardi Barnagardi (Across to the other land) is a collection of artworks from the Wajarri People of Mid West WA.
