JOY Burch has announced the retirement of the inaugural ACT State Emergency Service (ACTSES) Chief Officer Tony Graham.
“Tony Graham will retire from his role as the ACTSES Chief Officer on 3 July 2015 after 11 years dedicated service with the ACT Emergency Services Agency (ESA),” Joy said.
“Tony has demonstrated a passion and commitment to serving the community through emergency services over 25 years, achieving continuous high quality, professional outcomes for the service and the ACT community.
“He joined the ACTSES in 1989 as a volunteer, and over the years he has been instrumental in establishing a number of significant improvements such as quality training, leadership development of staff and volunteers and increasing the awareness and need for community education.
“When the ACTSES was formally established in 2004, Tony was appointed as its first Chief Officer.
“Tony is highly respected by the volunteers and staff of the ACTSES, his ESA colleagues, the Government and the wider ACT community.
“I wish Tony and his wife Jane all the best for their retirement.”
The current ACTSES Deputy Chief Officer, Tracey Allen, will act in the role of ACTSES Chief Officer until a new Chief Officer is appointed.
