GORMAN House Arts Centre in Ainslie Ave Braddon has really been abuzz since the livewire Joseph Falsone took over the helm last year.
Now news is to hand this morning that ACT Arts Minister Joy Burch has announced the release of a Scoping Study into planning options at the heritage building and also the appointment of Philip Leeson Architects of Turner to complete the next stage of design and planning work. The study included a space audit and cultural planning exercise which will inform forward design to develop the building as an arts hub.
The 2013-14 ACT Budget committed $1 million over two years to the development of Gorman House as an arts centre.
Ms Burch said, “The Scoping Study provides a platform for continuing consultation with Gorman House Arts Centre Inc, its member artists and organisations to ensure that development at the centre meets the needs of the key tenants and users.”
The Scoping Study is now available on the artsACT website at arts.act.gov.au
