CORIN Forest is gearing up for winter, with double the area and snowmaking of last year. Following a great first year returning to snow in 2014, Corin Forest is bringing a bigger winter experience this season, including on and off snow additions.

Visitor numbers last year far exceeded the expectations leading in to the season. In response Corin Forest has been hard at work to make the experience even better for local and interstate visitors.

“We couldn’t have asked for a better response last year. We had so many people enjoying snow at Corin Forest for the first time in over a decade.” Dane Liepins, General Manager of Corin Forest said.

“The massive numbers we saw on weekends, and especially the days with natural snow, showed up a few parts of the infrastructure we had, some of which hadn’t seen much love in 30 years. This year we’re concentrating on getting those things right and the team has been working hard to make sure this winter is bigger and better for everyone who visits.”

In addition to doubling the snow area, the facilities at Corin Forest are being expanded to help meet the demand.

“We’re expanding the kitchen and serving capacity of the café, to help move things quickly for more time on the snow. We’ll also be opening an on-snow coffee and donut shack, so you don’t have to leave the snow for a quick snack!

“Parking and toilets were a big issue for us last year on our busy days too. Safety is our first priority, particularly around the road, and we’re more than doubling capacity for this winter.” Mr Liepins said.

To help avoid long lines and missing out on tickets to snow sessions, an online ticketing system will also be introduced. The session times will be changed to allow three sessions daily, up from two last season.

“We’ve listened to what people were saying – we needed to look at our ticketing system and we’ve done that for this year. We also found that the longer sessions weren’t necessarily the best option, especially for our younger visitors, so we’re making them a little shorter and adding an extra one, which means we can cater for more visitors.

“There will also be a dedicated toddlers area with a place to take photos, giving a safe place for a great first time at the snow!”

Corin Forest will be open seven days throughout the snow season, for more information visit the website.
