ACTEW Water will be cleaning the Pearce Reservoir from Tuesday 7 April to Thursday 9 April, 2015 which may lead to some discolouration for a short period of time.
It is expected that residents in Waramanga, Fisher and Weston may experience water discolouration with a possibility that this may extend to the surroundings areas which include Torrens, Pearce, Chifley, Mawson, O’Malley, Garran, Phillip and Lyons.
The change in colour normally occurs when the natural sediment is disturbed within the pipes causing the water to take on a brown or reddish colour. This is due to redirection of water flows through the pipes.
It is not recommended that you drink the water if it appears, tastes or smells objectionable. Residents experiencing discoloured water are advised not to use washing machines and dishwashers as it may stain clothing or clog filters.
ACTEW Water are encouraging residents to report any changes in colour on 6248 3111 or talktous@actew.com.au
