ACT Parks and Conservation Service advises that, weather permitting, a 875 hectare hazard reduction burn will be conducted today at Lone Pine to the west of the Boboyan Road on the Luton fire trail in Namadgi National Park. The burn, which could take up to three to four days, will reduce fire fuel loads.
The burn is one of several burns conducted over coming weeks which will collectively total over 7000 hectares. For the duration of the burns significant amounts of smoke is expected in the sky across the ACT.
