DEFENCE is warning that they’ll be joining in the Skyfire show tomorrow with their own things that go zoom and bang prior to the fireworks.
Australia’s Federation Guard will conduct Precision Drill Team displays and fire artillery guns from Gallipoli Reach and two Royal Australian Navy Squirrel Helicopters and a Royal Australian Air Force Hawk 127 will take to the skies for aerial displays on the night.
Major Francois Nozaic, Officer Commanding of Australia’s Federation Guard, says Skyfire is an opportunity to celebrate the Centenary of Anzac and the 15th birthday of Australia’s Federation Guard with the Canberra community.
Defence activities at Skyfire 2015 include:
-
6.05pm – Australia’s Federation Guard Display at Gallipoli Reach
6.15pm – Navy Squirrel Helicopter display over Central Basin Lake Burley Griffin
6.35pm – Australia’s Federation Guard Display at Gallipoli Reach
6.55pm – Royal Australian Air Force Hawk jet handling display over Lake Burley Griffin
8.29pm – Australia’s Federation Guard Artillery Gunfire at Gallipoli Reach
The fireworks kick off at 8.30pm. A certain radio station has all the details.
