CURATED by Leanne Santoro, the “Urban Suburban” exhibition, at the Canberra Museum and Gallery in Civic, highlights works of Canberra, Queanbeyan and surrounds from the CMAG collection from the 1960s to today. The idea is to look at this region as a place where people live, away from the notion of Canberra as the nation’s capital. The list of contributing artists is a local visual arts Who’s Who. It runs until June 21.

INDIGENOUS artists from the ACT are encouraged to enter the 2015 Telstra National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Art Award run by the Museum and Art Gallery of the NT. The top prize, won by our own Jenni Kemarre Martiniello in 2013, is worth $50,000. Winners will be announced on August 7. Entry forms from 08 8999 8287, email natsiaa@nt.gov.au, or visit nt.gov.au/natsiaa.8
