MICK Gentleman says that in order to respond to community comments and build upon the work that is being undertaken by the Capital Metro Agency (CMA) and the Chief Minister, Treasury and Economic Development Directorate (CMTEDD), the Environment and Planning Directorate (EPD) is undertaking a City and Northbourne Urban Design Framework (Ca-NUDF).

“The Ca-NUDF will guide the strategic opportunities for development, renewal and revitalisation in the city centre and along Northbourne Avenue. Today’s workshop marks the start of the next stage of engagement for the Ca-NUDF project,” Mick said.

“This engagement builds upon the previous consultation undertaken for the City Plan and most recently on the walking and cycling options for Northbourne Avenue, as well as the recently completed Capital Metro consultation on urban design, landscape and station design options for the median of Northbourne Avenue.

“The consultant and project teams within EPD have together made good progress understanding the context and the various renewal initiatives within Government and are at the stage of seeking early input from stakeholder on the city shape work,” Minister Gentleman concluded.

The Chief Minister, Treasury and Economic Development Directorate (CMTEDD) is also completing various development plans to revitalise a number of development sites along the light rail corridor.

Public consultation is scheduled for late 2015 on the draft documentation. For more information visit planning.act.gov.au
