OWEN Finegan has announced his resignation as Chief Executive Officer of the Snowy Hydro SouthCare Trust.
The Chairman of Snowy Hydro SouthCare Trust, Mr David Marshall, said “Owen has been an outstanding Chief Executive Officer raising the profile of this life-saving service and forging new relationships with many organisations in Canberra and the Southern New South Wales. Since assuming the role of CEO in 2011, Owen has overseen a series of successful and very significant changes, including the building of a new training and administration centre at the Hume helicopter base; the renegotiations of major sponsorships and the introduction of new events and corporate functions”.
Owen says that his decision to leave Canberra has left him with mixed feelings. “After almost 20 years living in Canberra including the opportunity to play with the Brumbies, captaining the team to the 2004 Super Rugby title and basing my family in this wonderful city it is sad to be saying goodbye to Canberra. Due to family commitments I will be moving to Sydney and taking up a new role and challenges as CEO of the Kids Cancer Project”.
“The past three and a half years with Snowy Hydro SouthCare have been incredibly rewarding and I have enjoyed every minute representing the great work of the rescue helicopter service. The relationships we have built as a team have made my role at Snowy Hydro SouthCare more than just a job to me. I have enjoyed coming to work every day and working with our team, crew, sponsors, volunteers, community partners and supporters of the service”.
“I will forever have a strong connection to Canberra and Snowy Hydro SouthCare and the wonderful work that is does, not only in Canberra but throughout the region. Since commencing my role as CEO in July 2011 I have seen the service go from strength to strength and the lives of many in our community have been impacted by the outstanding commitment of the pilots, crew and medical teams on board our Rescue Helicopter.
Owen confirmed he will keep an active interest in Snowy Hydro SouthCare in Canberra and the region.
