ACT Policing’s Criminal Investigations is investigating a shooting incident in Gowrie this morning (Monday, February 2).
Police were called around 2.30am this morning to a house in Gowrie after the resident reported a number of shots fired into the home.
Three people were home at the time of the incident however were not struck by any rounds.
Members from Tuggeranong Police Station attended and assessed the damage, confirming a bullet hole in the front lounge room window of a home on Dalziel Street.
Detectives from Criminal Investigations are conducting enquiries into the incident.
AFP Forensic Services will conduct an examination.
Anyone who may have seen or heard anything suspicious overnight on Dalziel Street or surrounding streets is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or via act.crimestoppers.com.au. Information can be provided anonymously.
UPDATE: ACT Policing is seeking the assistance of the community in relation to the ongoing investigation relating to the shooting in Gowrie.
After speaking to witnesses, police believe that a gold coloured Subaru WRX was seen in the immediate vicinity of the incident.
At the time of the incident, the WRX was bearing ACT registration, YHN78S and has a distinctive rear wing.
If you have seen a gold WRX, or know the whereabouts of a WRX matching the description, please contact police immediately on 131 444. Please do not approach the car.
Police are asking anyone who saw any suspicious activity around Dalziel Street, Gowrie early this morning or can assist in locating the gold WRX to contact ACT Policing Operations on 131 444.
FURTHER UPDATE: THE Subaru WRX has been located.
Police responded to a report of a burnt out car on Mountain Creek Road, Uriarra earlier today.
Checks reveal it is the gold Subaru WRX wanted in relation to the shooting incident in Gowrie.
