THE Property Council ACT’s Cathering Carter informs us that three ACT offices and a retirement living development are finalists in the 2015 Property Council of Australia / Rider Levett Bucknall Innovation and Excellence Awards.

“The ACT leads the pack in the development of high-quality, innovative workplaces, and we can be proud to once again have some of our best office projects up for national awards,” Catherine says.

The Department of Industry’s workplace in NewActon’s Nishi building and the National Circuit Precinct tenant environment at 2-4 National Circuit in Barton are both finalists for the ‘Project Control Group Award for Best Workplace Project’. The National Circuit precinct is also up for a gong in the ‘KONE Award for Innovation’.

Sirius in Woden, Australia’s first major office building to achieve a 6 Star NABERS Energy rating without GreenPower, is up for the ‘Award for Best Sustainable Development – Existing Buildings’.

Canberra’s largest retirement village, Monash Green in Tuggeranong, is competing for the ‘Lend Lease Award for Best Retirement Living Development’. With more than 220 independent living units, 220 residential aged care units and extensive community facilities.

“It is great to see an ACT retirement living project achieve national recognition, as Canberra needs more liveable, affordable and versatile retirement living options,” Catherine added.

All ACT finalists are competing for the industry’s most coveted prize – the Property Council of Australia / Rider Levett Bucknall Australian Development of the Year award.
