THREE new overhead variable message signs are being installed eastbound on William Hovell Drive before Bindubi Street, northbound on Yarra Glen before Carruthers Street and westbound on Hindmarsh Drive before Jerrabomberra Avenue.
“These signs can display a wide variety of electronically generated messages to communicate information about traffic and road conditions to members of the public, so they can make informed decisions on ACT roads,” says TAMs Minister Shane Rattenbury.
“This can include information and directions to detours in the event of unplanned traffic incidents such as accidents. The signs can also be used to provide the public with information on changes to traffic conditions from planned traffic incidents such as scheduled events and road works.
Construction is due to be completed early in 2015.
