CATALDO’S Salon is the latest organisation nominated to receive a Canberra Gold Award as part of 2015 Canberra Day celebrations on March 12, the ACT Government has announced this morning.
The nomination acknowledges 50 years of business in the ACT.
From humble beginnings in 1965, Cataldo’s Salon has matured with Canberra to become an established name in hairdressing, both nationally and internationally.
Canberra Gold Award nominations are open and locals are encouraged to nominate individuals, organisations or groups who have been part of the Canberra community for 50 years or more, so that they can be celebrated as part of the annual ceremony.
Such people as have lived in and contributed to Canberra for more than five decades, they say, show “a great level of commitment to our city.”
During the 2014 Canberra Day celebrations over 200 individuals were recognised, as well as organisations like Hartley Life Care Inc., St Edmunds College, Veteran and Vintage Car Club, Canberra Royals Rugby Union Football Club Inc. and the Greek Orthodox Community of Canberra.
To submit a 2015 nomination online, visit act.gov.au/CBRgold or request a hard copy form from Canberra Connect, phone 13 22 81. Nominations close on January 31.
