POLICE are investigating a shotgun blast which shattered the front window of a real estate agent in Holt overnight last Saturday to Sunday morning.
On Monday police were called to the Barrett Elton Real Estate, on the corner of Hardwick Crescent and Luke Street, Kippax, in relation to damage to the front window.
An internal casing of a shotgun cartridge was located nearby and an examination by AFP Forensics has since confirmed the window damage was caused by a shotgun blast. ACT Policing’s Criminal Investigations have canvassed local businesses for CCTV and witnesses.
Police are now calling for any information from members of the public who may have witnessed suspicious behaviour in the area between 10am on Saturday January 18 and 6am on Sunday January 19 in the Kippax area. Anyone who may have information about this incident is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 orwww.act.crimestoppers.com.au. Reports to Crime Stoppers can be provided anonymously.
Members of the public are reminded that under the illicit firearms campaign underway in the ACT, anyone with information about an illicit firearm or suspects someone is involved in the criminal use or possession of a firearm is may be eligible for a reward up to $5,000. The recently-extended campaign will cease on 30 April 2014.
