Dhooria, after months of intensive training under two coaches, stunned several more highly favoured opponents on his way to the final. He has a bright and promising future in table tennis.

He also is the current Victorian State and Sydney Metro champion in his age division and reached the semi-finals in under-18 division of Sydney Metro in April.

He has been playing for only three years but has has not lost a match in ACT Division 1 in the past eight months, playing as the only junior in the pennant competition.

He rises at 5am most days, training against a table tennis robot, lifting weights and mastering his footwork, before attending Marist College.

ACT competitions, for players ranging from school age to old age and including athletes with a disability, are held at the Table Tennis Centre on weekdays and weeknights. The centre is open seven days a week.
