ACT Policing is seeking witnesses to an attempted robbery of a man in Telopea Park in the early hours of this morning (Sunday October 5).

A 26-year-old victim had been walking on the footpath on Canberra Avenue in Forrest, heading toward Griffith, around 4.50am today when he accepted a lift from two men in a white, late 1990s model Subaru.

When the victim was dropped off at a carpark in Telopea Park, he was threatened by one of the men, who demanded his wallet. The victim refused, fled on foot, and contacted police.

One of the offenders is described as aged in his mid to late 20s, with a slim build, around 5’6” to 5’7” (168-170cm) tall, and with short to medium length blond hair. He was wearing a white cap and a white button-up shirt.

Police are urging anyone who may have witnessed the incident or have any information that could assist police to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000, or via https://act.crimestoppers.com.au. Information can be provided anonymously.
