David Whitbread

David Whitbread

AFTER 40 years of playing the bassoon, Canberra musician David Whitbread is finally ready to present a kind of bassoon cabaret called “Things You Shouldn’t do on a Bassoon”.  Whitbread, who has backed Stephane Grappelli and Cleo Laine, laments the fact that this chosen instrument has often been called “the clown of the orchestra”, most unfair if you consider its range. At Wesley Music Centre, 2pm, Saturday, October 4. Entry by donation of a note at the door with all proceeds going to StreetSwags.org
