Bookings about to close for open day in Namadgi and Tidbinbilla

Craft ACT: Craft and Design Centre is staging a unique FREE artist-in-residence open day in Namadgi National Park and Tidbinbilla Nature Reserve from 9am to 2pm this Saturday, September 20, but you’d better hurry!

Eminent Japanese wood artist Satoshi Fujinuma is in Canberra to undertake a residency and there will be a number of special public events that will give members of the public the opportunity to engage with Satoshi and other experts from across the craft, science and environmental sectors throughout September.

A charter bus will take visitors from Civic Square to Gudgenby Ready-Cut Cottage in Namadgi National Park, where Fujinuma will provide insight into his unique wood turning and wood sculpture pieces.

Morning tea will be provided. Visitors are also encouraged to bring a packed lunch as there will be the opportunity to enjoy lunch in the gorgeous natural surrounds of the park, before being transported back to Civic Square by 2pm.
