RSPCA ACT CEO Tammy Ven Dange has unveiled the Pet Memorial Tree display at Floriade.
The tree serves as a reminder of those pets that have passed on and the wonderful impact our pets have on our lives. RSPCA ACT encourages members of the public to pay homage to their treasured pets by visiting our Floriade marquee and attaching a tag to the tree.
“I cannot think of a better place to unveil our Memorial Tree than at Floriade. Keeping with the theme this year, people are obviously passionate for their pets. Now they can commemorate their departed furry loved ones with this tree that will continue to grow throughout Floriade as people add dog tags to it. It should be incredible to see by the time we get to Day 30,” Tammy said.
After Floriade, the Memorial Tree will be moved to the RSPCA ACT in Weston so that people can continue to remember their pets there.
“We’ll eventually replace this version with a more permanent fixture created by an artist, but we’ll transfer the dog tags to the new tree so that people can continue to visit us when they want to think about their much loved pet.”.
RSPCA ACT will be at Floriade for the duration of the month-long event finishing up on 12 October.
