Elderly woman killed by a bus on Canberra Avenue

ACT Policing is investigating an incident in Griffith this afternoon (Wednesday, September 10) in which an elderly female pedestrian was struck by a bus.

Attempts were made to revive the woman but she died at the scene.

The incident occurred around 3.55pm today at the intersection of Canberra Avenue and Captain Cook Crescent.

Police attended and immediately began to divert traffic away from the scene.

ACT Policing’s Collision Investigation and Reconstruction Team will compile a brief for the Coroner.

This is the ninth road fatality in the ACT this year.
