A 48-year-old homeless man will face court today charged with causing a bushfire during the total fire ban on January 16.
Police will allege the man had been found hiding under a bridge after a fire had been deliberately lit near Tuggeranong Parkway and Lady Denman Drive.
The man was severely burnt from the fire and was initially taken to Sydney’s Concord Hospital for treatment.
When the man was discharged from hospital and returned to the ACT on Saturday, he was arrested and taken to the ACT Watch House.
