ROADS around Canberra have started melting due to the prolonged heatwave, according to Roads ACT.
Local motorists have been advised to drive with caution in the heat, as
Roads ACT is currently placing crushed stone on a number of roads throughout Canberra to prevent damage from the heat.
Signs with warnings of loose stones have been posted at all sites where the treatment has been applied.
Motorists have been advised to drive with caution in the heat and watch for loose stone signage. In some areas a reduced speed limit may be implemented.
The heatwave is expected to continue tomorrow, and predicted to cool early next week where the loose stones will then be removed.
If people notice any issues on the roads they should report it to Canberra Connect on 13 22 81.
