ORGANISERS of the International Tenant’s Day Art Competition for 2014, the Tenant’s Union ACT and the ACT Community Cultural Inclusion Program, are providing free art workshops conducted by local artist Timo Nest for potential entrants to fine-tune their skills before submitting their entries.
Last year’s winning artist, Maria Sankey, attended the workshops and benefited from them.
The sessions, which will be held in the Theo Notaras Multicultural Centre, 2nd Floor, North Building,180 London Circuit, across from the Legislative Assembly, run over consecutive Mondays until Monday September 23, 10am to 12pm, and participants may develop works to be entered in the competition and exhibition.
Places are only available for people who rent their accommodation in the ACT (public, social, community housing, boarders and lodgers, and also includes people staying in a refuge or shelter)
From October 13, after a two week exhibition at the Belconnen Arts Centre in celebration of International Tenants Day, the Exhibition will tour to several ACT libraries.
If you would like to attend these workshops, contact Nicola Hearn at the Tenants’ Union, on 6247 1026, or email to:info@tenantsact.org.au
