Individualistic trio performs at Wesley

THIS Wednesday, August 13, the Wesley Music Centre Lunchtime Live series will feature three outstanding musicians, violinist Lauren Davis, pianist Elaine Loebenstein and trumpeter Justin Lingard playing works by Sibelius and Eric Ewazen.

Elaine Loebenstein

Irish-born Loebenstein is a collaborative pianist with particular interests in the fields of accompaniment and improvisation. She has appeared on ABC and SBS television, as well as many live broadcasts on radio. She also creates music for film and has performed with silent film and historical material at festivals worldwide. Her projects have included music for a DVD celebrating the Canberra centenary, “Imagining Canberra” (National Film and Sound Archive of Australia) and also for the exhibition “Glorious Days: Australia 1913” (National Museum of Australia).

Lauren Davis

American-born Davis received her Bachelor of Music from the Oberlin College Conservatory, her Master of Music from Louisiana State, and her PhD from ANU. She is now the leader of the Riverina Chamber Orchestra and a member of the Canberra Symphony Orchestra. She also teaches at the Riverina Conservatorium in Wagga Wagga, Australia.

Justin Lingard

Justin Lingard

Wagga-based Lingard studied trumpet at the Queensland and Tasmania Conservatoriums, graduating Bachelor of Music with Honours in 1999, under the tuition of Yoram Levy. He performs with the Sydney Symphony Orchestra, the Sydney Philharmonia, the Australian Opera and Ballet Orchestra, the Melbourne Philharmonic Orchestra, the Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra, the Riverina Chamber Orchestra and since 2013, the Canberra Symphony Orchestra.

Lunchtime Live series, violinist Lauren Davis, pianist Elaine Loebenstein and trumpeter Justin Lingard, 12.40 to 1.20pm. At Wesley Music Centre, 20 National Circuit, Forrest, Entry $5 minimum, concession $2, No bookings required. Tickets at the door.
