ACT Policing arrested a 33-year-old woman and an 18-year-old man after a home invasion at Port Jackson Circuit, Phillip on Friday morning, (20 June).
About 11.20am the residents of the house were at home when they heard a loud knock on the front door and someone demanding money. After refusing them entry, the alleged offenders have then attempted to kick in the front door.
The residents tried to secure the front door and ran out the back yard, through a back fence and called police.
When police arrived there were four people still in the house, who ran out the front door when they saw the police.
A foot pursuit ensued and police were able to apprehend two of the alleged offenders. Property belonging to the home owners was found strewn along the path of pursuit.
The two offenders were taken to the ACT Watch House and will face the ACT Magistrates Court this morning on charges of theft and aggravated burglary-intent to commit theft.
Police are still searching for the other two alleged offenders and are urging anyone who may have any information to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000, or via www.act.crimestoppers.com.au. Information can be provided anonymously.
