Communities @ Work have been in touch to share the results of their Care & Share program at the Tuggeranong Hyperdome.

In total the program raised $4,400 and 380 items for Communities @ Work.

“Both the money and the goods will be an immense help to the local community after research found that one in every 13 Canberrans is struggling to pay for essentials such as housing and food,” a spokesperson said.

“Cost of Living Reports have shown utilities costs in Canberra have risen nearly 50 per cent over the last five years which is why the support from Hyperdome to Communites @ Work is so crucial.

“Communities@Work’s social programs provide immediate assistance to vulnerable and disadvantaged people experiencing hardship and empower people to create better futures. By providing food, essential services, education and skills training they help build independence, resilience and a social connection amongst the community.
